Lash Extension Aftercare Guide
Good aftercare helps your lash extensions look their best for about 3 to 4 weeks. Here is how to look after them between appointments.
The first 24 to 48 hours
Keep your extensions dry while the adhesive fully cures, which takes about 24 to 48 hours. Once cured, extensions are water-resistant.
Daily care
- Gently brush your lashes with a clean lash brush to keep them tidy.
- Clean your lash line with a gentle, oil-free cleanser, then pat dry.
- Be gentle when washing your face, and avoid rubbing your eyes.
What to avoid
- Oil-based makeup, cleansers and makeup removers, because oil breaks down lash adhesive over time.
- Picking, pulling or tugging at extensions.
- Eyelash curlers.
- Removing extensions yourself at home. Pulling or picking can damage natural lashes.
Water, makeup and sleep
You can shower, swim and wear makeup once your extensions have cured. If you wear eye makeup, choose oil-free products and remove them gently. When you sleep, try not to press your face firmly into the pillow.
Refills
Extensions shed naturally with your own lash growth, so a refill every 2 to 3 weeks keeps your set full. Read about classic and hybrid refills and volume and mega volume refills.
